Also see: press release – Rep. Tlaib introduces bill to restore temporary protected status for Yemen; Tlaib (D-MI) 10/20/26: X-post – “TPS for Yemen must be restored. I’m proud to represent a district home to a large Yemeni community. I will not turn my back on them. DHS unjustly terminated TPS for Yemen without care for the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe and escalating armed conflict facing the country.”; Exclusive: Rep. Rashida Tlaib introduces bill to restore TPS for Yemen (Yemeni American 10/19/26)
(INTEGRATING ISRAEL INTO THE US MILITARY & NAT SEC INFRASTRUCTURE): Reporting/posts related to effort to weld/integrate Israel into the America’s military and national security infrastructure (currently via Sec. 219 in the FY27 NDAA, as previously covered, exhaustively, in the Round-Up):
- Jewish Insider 10/20/26: Michael Oren, Jonathan Schanzer split over when Israel should move past U.S. aid [“Oren urged Israel to quickly pivot towards a strategic military partnership, while Schanzer warned a hasty move could leave Israel vulnerable“]
- National Review (FDD/Richard Goldberg) 10/19/26: It’s Time for a Reset in U.S.-Israel Relations [“To secure the next American century, the two countries need to build a joint venture based on tech and defense innovation.”] [“Moving from a foreign aid paradigm to an interest-based joint venture will deliver massive economic and security return on investment and help guarantee another American century. That’s a U.S.-Israel relationship every American should support.”]

4. Selected Members on the Record
Israel/AIPAC in US elex/politics (incl Trump endorsement of Bibi)
- Scott (R-FL) 10/22/26: Sen. Rick Scott Concludes Trip with U.S. Allies in Mediterranean, Middle East to Strengthen U.S. Economy and Defend Shared National Security Interests
- Finstad (R-MN) 10/22/26: Finstad, Colleagues Condemn Hasan Piker’s Upcoming Appearance in Minnesota
- Sanders (I-VT) 10/22/26: X-post – “AIPAC is now spending as much as $9 million against Abdul El-Sayed. AIPAC is why we’re at war in Iran. AIPAC is why the U.S. has supported genocide in Gaza. We must say NO to AIPAC. YES to electing Abdul as Michigan’s next U.S. Senator.”
- Sanders (I-VT) 10/22/26: X-post responding to AIPAC – “No. I’m not ‘scapegoating’ AIPAC. You support Trump’s illegal war in Iran. Americans don’t. You want taxpayers to spend billions funding the Israeli government. Americans don’t. Your super PAC is spending $9 million to defeat Abdul because he opposes your agenda. Unacceptable.”
- Ramirez (D-IL) 10/20/26: X-post – “Dime con quién andas y te dire quién eres. Authoritarians stand with authoritarians. Whether its purchasing diesel from Russia when the proceeds will be used to wage war on Ukraine or by seeking to influence elections in Israel in Netanyahu’s favor, Trump’s actions show who he works for and what he prioritizes. We must stand with Ukraine, end the war in Iran, Block the Bombs, and hold the warmongers and authoritarians accountable.”
- Emmer (R-MN) 10/20/26: X-post – “I am proud to have received an A+ voting record on @CWforA ‘s scorecard for the 119th Congress. I will always work to protect the sanctity of unborn life, fairness for female athletes, religious liberty, and support for our ally Israel.”
- Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) 10/19/26: X-post – “A true friend of Israel doesn’t threaten to withhold U.S. support based on the result of its election. The U.S.-Israel relationship has endured regardless of which party coalition leads it. Trump’s attempt at strong-arming its voters risks Israel’s security and erodes the bipartisan bond we have with our only democratic ally in the region. Israeli voters decide who leads Israel, not Trump. Pro-Israel American voters should remember this threat and see that Israel cannot count on Trump.” Responding to news that Trump endorsed Netanyahu
- Sanders (I-VT) 10/19/26: X-post – “Trump just endorsed Netanyahu. No surprise. One authoritarian helping another stay in power. Trump and Netanyahu. More war. More destruction. More genocide. We must end the Republican rubber-stamp Congress. We must stop all military aid to Israel.”
- Sanders (I-VT) 10/19/26: X-post – “No surprise. Trump just endorsed Netanyahu. Together, they want never-ending war in the Middle East. More death. More destruction. More genocide. On November 3, we must end Republican control of Congress. We must stop all military aid to Israel.”
- Gimenez (R-FL) 10/18/26: X-post – “America will always stand with the Jewish State of #Israel & our dear friend PM @netanyahu who has championed our alliance for decades!” [responding to Netanyahu’s post thanking Trump for his endorsement]
- Craig (D-MN) 10/17/26: X-post – “As Democrats, we constantly criticize the far-right for their incendiary and discriminatory politics, but we need to hold ourselves to the same standard. Hasan Piker’s rhetoric is polarizing and dangerous, and embracing him as a party is a mistake. I am disappointed that Minnesota DFLers are hosting an event with him here.”
- Scalise (R-LA) 10/16/26: X-post w/ video clip – “El-Sayed and his socialist friends have a DANGEROUS vision for America, and the entire Democrat party is EMBRACING it. These radicals defend Iran, hate Israel, and campaign on policies that would BANKRUPT America. This is NOT your father’s Democrat party.”
- Sessions (R-TX) 10/16/26: X-post – “Concerned Women for America LAC released its 119th Congress scorecard, and I was honored to earn an A+ voting record. I am grateful for this recognition and will continue standing for the values we share: defending life and family, protecting children, preserving women’s sports and spaces, upholding religious liberty and national sovereignty, and supporting Israel.”
- Cortez Masto (D-NV) 10/16/26: X-post – “The continued lack of accountability for settler violence in the West Bank has allowed attacks on innocent people, including multiple Americans, to go unanswered, and it is eroding what should be a strong alliance between the U.S. and Israel. Prime Minister Netanyahu isn’t doing nearly enough to stop the violence.”
- Balint (D-VT) 10/16/26: X-post – “The violence we’re seeing toward Palestinian civilians and members of the press in Israeli settlements is unacceptable. As is the Israeli government’s enabling of it. That’s why I’m an original cosponsor of the Stop the Settlements Act which would sanction settlers to stop the construction of new settlements and expansion of existing ones. This is essential to stop the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians and create a true pathway to peace.”
Jewish Supremacist Violence in the West Bank (incl attack on 65 year-old female Jewish American journalist)
- Rosen (D-NV) 10/19/26: X-post – “While I’m glad to see those suspected of attacking an American photojournalist, foreign diplomats, and Palestinians in the West Bank over the weekend have been arrested, such violence is appalling and unacceptable. Settler violence in the West Bank is at an all-time high, and Israeli officials must do everything they can to find, arrest, and prosecute extremists involved in these and all recent incidents. Failing to do so threatens both Israeli and Palestinian lives. Let me be absolutely clear: any leader who stops short of demanding full accountability and ending this reign of terror across the West Bank is undermining Israeli security and harming the prospect of a two-state solution and long-term peace in the Middle East.” [Note: 9 our of 10 of those arrested in connection with the attack were freed to “house arrest within a few days]
- Elfreth (D-MD) 10/19/26: X-post – “Settler violence in the West Bank is at an all-time high, according to the UN’s records. This attack on American journalist Heidi Levine was nothing short of horrific. For the safety of Palestinians, Israelis, and Americans, the Israeli government must continue to crack down on settler violence in the West Bank. We will demand full accountability and transparency in order to uphold peace and human rights across the region.”
- Smith (D-WA) 10/19/26: X-post – “Unchecked settler violence in the West Bank is unacceptable. Within the last several days, Palestinians, European diplomats, and American journalist Heidi Levine have faced horrifying attacks by settlers. Condemnations, opening of investigations, and the arrest of 10 settlers today is a start, but far more must be done to rein in settler violence. When Prime Minister Netanyahu’s government retroactively legalizes outposts, when Finance Minister Smotrich and National Security Minister Ben-Gvir openly support settlement expansion, and when settlement projects such as E1 are allowed to proceed, all these actions enable further settler violence. We must ensure perpetrators of instability in the West Bank are held accountable. Congress should pass the West Bank Violence Prevention Act, legislation I introduced with Representatives Nadler and Himes that would sanction individuals and entities destabilizing the West Bank. Those threatening peace and stability in the West Bank must face consequences to prevent further terror and unrest.”
- Meeks (D-NY) 10/18/26: press release – “I condemn the brutal settler attacks on American photojournalist Heidi Levine, European diplomats, and Palestinian olive harvesters in the West Bank. Prime Minister Netanyahu must act now to stop settler violence, protect civilians, and ensure those responsible are brought to justice. The impunity must end. If entrusted with the House Foreign Affairs Committee gavel next Congress, I will advance the West Bank Violence Prevention Act to impose targeted sanctions on those who commit or support this violence. Those responsible must face consequences.”
- Ramirez (D-IL) 10/18/26: X-post – “The attack on Heidi, an American journalist, by extremist settlers is a reminder that our government and Israel’s continue to enable settler violence in the West Bank. Every perpetrator must be held accountable and Congress must act to protect Palestinians lives. Let’s start by passing my Block the Bombs Act!”
- Meng (D-NY) 10/17/26: X-post – “Enough. Even Ambassador Huckabee and senior American and Israeli officials have condemned this lawless terror. Palestinians, journalists, and Israelis continue to be attacked. I support the West Bank Violence Prevention Act to crack down on anyone in the West Bank who thinks violence and terror are the answer.”
- Khanna (D-CA) 10/17/26: X-post – “I am still waiting for my apology, Mr. Herzog” Responding to X-post by Israeli President Isaac Herzog 10/17/26 – “I just called Washington Post photographer Heidi Levine, who was brutally attacked by violent rioters on Friday. As President of the State of Israel, I strongly condemn this outrageous and shocking violence, both the terrible attack on Heidi and other grave incidents of violence, such as what took place today in Taybeh…”
- DeSaulnier (D-CA) 10/17.26: X-post – “I join @RepRaskin in condemning this despicable and heinous attack on a journalist. The Israeli settlers who violently attack Palestinian civilians, journalists, and others must be held accountable immediately.”
- Van Hollen (D-MD) 10/16/26: X-post – “Today, another American citizen & journalist was brutalized by Israeli settlers attacking Palestinians in the West Bank. This repeated violence & brazen impunity for attacks against Americans & Palestinians alike are unacceptable. When will Trump & Rubio DO SOMETHING?”
- Raskin (D-MD) 10/16/26: X-post – “The reported attack on Washington Post photojournalist Heidi Levine by West Bank settlers is unconscionable and a moment of reckoning for the world. Are we going to tolerate accelerating vigilante violence against Palestinian civilians and foreign observers by right-wing vigilantes who operate with government protection? Given that Trump lifted President Biden’s sanctions on vigilante settlers, we must work to end this chaos and insist upon protection of human rights and the rule of law on the West Bank.”
- Coons (D-DE) 10/16/26: X-post – “This is appalling. There must be swift justice and accountability for perpetrators of violent extremism in the West Bank, which stands in the way of regional peace and is escalating an already unpredictable and dangerous situation. I’m keeping Heidi, her family, and her Washington Post colleagues in my prayers.”
- Khanna (D-CA) 10/16/26: X-post – “Israeli settlers beat Washington Post photographer Heidi Levine. She said attackers picked her up, then threw her down again and kept kicking. They operate with impunity. We need to cut off aid to Israel that is used to fund settler activity, and stop the sales of these weapons.”
- Castro (D-TX) 10/16/26: X-post – “Today’s violent attack is an example of why Congress should take up my bill, the Stop the Settlements Act, which would impose sanctions on anyone looking to take Palestinian land. Dozens of Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian villagers during an olive harvest in the West Bank. Washington Post journalist Heidi Levine was brutally attacked. This must be a wakeup call. Attacks like this one pave the way for the violent land grabs taking place throughout the West Bank and push us further away from peace.”
- Khanna (D-CA) 10/16/26: X-post – “Netanyahu called me a liar when settlers detained me, along with a NYT photographer, in Zanuta this past July. Now, he is calling a Washington Post photographer a liar. Netanyahu, you are the liar with the blood of Palestinian children on your hands.”
IDF Targets Brad Lander (candidate, D-NY) & Group of Amcits, Including Rabbis, in the West Bank
Note: I don’t normally include statements from candidates here, but given the likelihood of Lander winning next month – and the extraordinary attention this story is getting due to his presence – I am making an exception here.
Brad Lander (candidate, D-NY) tells his side of the story on X (in order starting from the latest post):
- 10/22/26: X-post – “Back in the field harvesting olives this morning at the invitation of Palestinian families (near Beit Jala today) with @rabbijilljacobs @truahrabbis and many other new released-from-detention friends. Our harvest today was peaceful & successful. Sadly, another harvest in Masafer Yatta was not. Settlers attacked Palestinian farmers — but the IDF arrested two of the farmers, and evicted the others from their own land, after declaring it a closed military zone. Sound familiar? It’s happening every single day.”
- 10/21/26: X-post w/ video clip – “Everyone in our Protect the Harvest delegation has been released. The Israelis who were with us have also received 15-30 day bans from the West Bank, which unfortunately means they will be unable to participate in the olive harvest. Thank you to everyone for the kind words and support throughout the day. For now, just feeling very grateful that our group is safe.”
- 10/21/26: X-post responding to Israeli Foreign Ministry post (below) – “The Israeli Foreign Ministry is lying. No coordination was required, and we were never told that it was. We were not in a restricted security area. We did not pass any checkpoints. Palestinian farmers do not — and should not — need permits to harvest their own olive fields. But they fear doing so, because the IDF doesn’t protect them from settler violence. We’re trying to model solidarity & co-existence between Jews and Palestinians, and to call attention to the horrors of the occupation. The Israeli government is trying to foment violence between Jews and Palestinians, and to make it impossible for Palestinians to harvest their olive groves, drive on their roads, or live in their homes.”
- 10/21/26: X-post w/ video clip: “I’ve been released from IDF custody with a ‘warning,’ apparently because of my public profile (I told them I wasn’t even a congressmember yet, just a nominee). But several dozen rabbis & participants harvesting olives with me are still in detention. For harvesting olives. They should all be released immediately. To be clear: Palestinians face far worse consequences every day. These detentions by the IDF are one more attempt to undermine Palestinians’ right to harvest their olive groves, travel on their roads, and live in their homes. Yet one more element of escalating, and very clearly state-sponsored ethnic cleansing. We’ll update on their status as soon as we hear.
- 10/21/26: “I’ve been detained by the IDF, along with a group of rabbis & volunteers. We were simply harvesting olives in a grove near Nehalim in the West Bank. The occupation is a crime under international law. Harvesting olives isn’t a crime under any law I know.”
- 10/20/26: X-post w/ video clip – “Today was our second day in the olive groves with the ‘Protect the Harvest’ coalition. Listen to Amira Musallam from @ucpinpalestine share a horrific story of a mom and two small kids who were violently attacked by settlers earlier this year — in a house that sits just above the olive grove where we harvested today. These are the kinds of assaults that Palestinians in the West Bank are subject to constantly. We’ll keep shining a spotlight on what’s happening here – in the pursuit of ending the scourge of state-sanctioned settler terrorism.”
- 10/19/26: X-post w/ video clip – “I’m in the West Bank this week as part of the “Protect the Harvest” coalition along with @israelispeaceny, @ucpinpalestine & Protect the Harvest, which is bringing people together from around the world to help Palestinian farmers harvest olives in the face of state-sanctioned settler terrorism. Our goals for the trip are to help protect the olive harvest — and to shed a light on the reality of the occupation. To ensure that international solidarity goes beyond the harvest, to become a sustained commitment to protecting Palestinian communities from settler violence, forced displacement, and the ongoing threats to their right to remain on their land. And, speedily and in our day, to secure human rights, safety, equality & freedom for both Palestinians and Israelis. Thankfully, our corner of today’s harvest was peaceful and successful. But violence unfortunately is never far away. We’ll keep you posted on our efforts this week, especially the stories we hear from Palestinians on the ground. Protect the Harvest.”
Members on the targeting of the group (including Lander)
- McGovern (D-MA) 10/22/26: X-post – “I’m outraged that my constituent, Rabbi Justin David, was detained in the West Bank while protecting Palestinians who were harvesting their olive groves. I’m relieved to hear that he has finally been released—but the Israeli government should never have taken him into custody in the first place. Occupation and settlement expansion violate international law. Harvesting olives and protecting Palestinian families from violence does not.”
- Omar (D-MN) 10/22/26: X-post – “Israeli forces unlawfully detained Brad Lander & dozens of American rabbis for harvesting olives in the West Bank. It’s not illegal to harvest olives; Israel’s genocide against the Palestinian people is. All detainees must be released immediately. We must end the genocide.”
- Khanna (D-CA) 10/21/26: X-post – “I am waiting for @netanyahu and @Isaac_Herzog to pipe in calling Brad Lander a liar who is staging a photo up. Or maybe Mr. Witkoff will be brazen enough to compliment Netanyahu & Herzog as great humanitarians like Putin & Trump. The world needs a new generation of leadership!” [and right on cue: Israeli Foreign Minister on detention of Brad Lander in the West Bank 10/21/26: X-post – “This was not about harvesting olives. It was about harvesting headlines. Brad Lander’s latest stunt is nothing more than a calculated political provocation. Lander traveled to a foreign country, deliberately entered a restricted security area, and participated in an unauthorized activity without the required coordination. What makes this stunt even more outrageous is that his own team contacted Israeli representatives in the United States ahead of his visit and was explicitly informed that proper coordination with the relevant authorities was required. He chose to ignore those instructions. At a time of heightened security tensions, Israeli security forces have a responsibility to protect lives, prevent dangerous incidents, and maintain public order. Had anyone been injured as a result of his reckless political theater, Lander would undoubtedly have been among the first to demand that Israeli authorities intervene and provide protection. Brad Lander came looking for a confrontation. Now he is pretending to be its victim.”
- Van Hollen (D-MD) 10/21/26: X-post – “Today, while protecting Palestinians, Brad Lander & a group of American rabbis & others were taken by the IDF. Releasing Brad isn’t enough, the Israeli govt must release them all. If this is how they treat Americans, imagine how they treat Palestinians. Trump & Rubio’s silence fuels this impunity.”
- Castro (D-TX) 10/21/26: X-post – “Today, Israeli forces detained dozens of volunteers, including a congressional candidate and rabbis, in the West Bank. Days earlier, settlers attacked European diplomats and a Washington Post journalist. If American public servants, diplomats, and journalists are targeted, imagine what Palestinian families face every day. Congress should take up my bill, the Stop the Settlements Act, to impose sanctions on anyone driving settlements in the West Bank or Gaza, including construction companies and banks. It’s backed by 59 members of Congress, including the bill’s latest co-sponsors, @RepRaskin, @RepRobertGarcia, @RepJasonCrow, @RepDeborahRoss, @RepJasmine, and @RepDavids.” RESPONSE – Lander (candidate, D-NY) 10/21/26: X-post – “Count on one more co-sponsor for the Stop the Settlements Act in January, @JoaquinCastro“. Also see Castro’s press release – Castro Statement On Detention Of American Rabbis, Volunteers In The West Bank
- DeLauro (D-CT) 10/21/26: X-post – “This is a pattern of abuse by the Israeli government. Detain peaceful volunteers and Palestinians while turning a blind eye to violent, Israeli settlers. There is no reason to detain anyone for picking olives.”
- Garcia (D-IL) 10/21/26: X-post – “I’m glad @bradlander was released from IDF custody, and I call for the rest of his delegation to be released immediately. This is just a glimpse of the horrific reality Palestinians face in their homeland every day, terrorized by Israeli soldiers and settlers and unable to live freely. And it’s why I continue to demand that the Israeli government release all arbitrarily detained Palestinian prisoners, and for the U.S. government to stop enabling occupation and genocide of the Palestinian people.”
- Huffman (D-CA) 10/21/26: X-post – “Israeli authorities detained humanitarian volunteers and American rabbis who were peacefully helping Palestinian farmers harvest their olives in the West Bank. I urge the Israeli Ambassador to immediately intervene, end the intimidation of these volunteers, release those still detained, and ensure they are not deported. Protecting Palestinian farmers from settler violence should not be treated as a crime.”
- Raskin (D-MD) 10/21/26: X-post – “In the deepening chaos in the West Bank, the IDF detained several dozen American rabbis and volunteers, including my future Democratic colleague Brad Lander; Mattan Berner-Kadish, who grew up in my district; and at least 31 other American citizens helping Palestinian farmers try to harvest olives in the West Bank under the threat of violence. Meantime, vigilante settlers continue to terrorize Palestinians in the West Bank with scant consequences. Last week, out-of-control settlers injured an American journalist. Now, the IDF targets volunteers for helping Palestinians harvest olives. The eyes of the world are on the West Bank”
- Jackson (D-IL) 10/21/26: X-post – “I wholeheartedly condemn the detention by Israeli authorities of @bradlander and dozens of American rabbis and advocates who were peacefully helping Palestinian farmers harvest their olives in the occupied West Bank. Standing with farmers to protect their land and livelihood should not lead to detention, and all those still held must be released immediately. The U.S. must speak up for human rights, dignity, and accountability!”
- Doggett (D-TX) 10/21/26: X-post – “American rabbis and advocates were detained for helping Palestinians harvest their olives. Now, Netanyahu’s right-wing regime is planning to deport them at the same time it offers impunity to those West Bank settlers who terrorize. Free the Americans to return to their good work, end the settler violence and Israeli occupation.”
- McBride (D-DE) 10/21/26: X-post – “The IDF detained Brad Lander and several other Americans this morning for assisting Palestinian farmers in harvesting olives — a shameful action by the Israeli government that I wholeheartedly condemn. The remaining detainees must be immediately released. The Israeli government’s actions in the West Bank have increasingly violated international law, while its continued expansion of illegal settlements and failure to stop settler violence have led to the needless loss of life and undermined prospects for lasting peace. The Israeli government must put an end to settlement expansion, hold violent settlers accountable, and respect the rights and dignity of Palestinians living in both the West Bank and Gaza. The Israeli government must understand that their actions have consequences — and US political leaders must be willing to do more to reinforce that.”
- Beyer (D-VA) 10/21/26: X-post – “The IDF detained numerous American citizens, including @BradLander, in the West Bank, simply for participating in the olive harvest. All while turning a blind eye to settler violence against Palestinians there. Pass the Stop The Settlements Act now.”
- Kamlager-Dove (D-CA) 10/21/26: X-post – “Prime Minister Netanyahu must immediately release all of the peaceful American and Israeli rabbis and activists who were detained during todays seasonal olive harvest in the West Bank. The Israeli government should be focused on ending settler terrorism – not harassing those peacefully standing up for peace and justice.”
- Ramirez (D-IL) 10/21/26: X-post – “Farming olives is not a crime under international law, but occupation and settler violence are. Israeli settlers have carried out at least 160 attacks against Palestinians during the current olive harvest in the West Bank. The recent detention of 80 harvest volunteers by the IDF is inexcusable. Our government must work to ensure the immediate release of all the detainees and demand an end to rising settler violence that is being facilitated with Americans’ dollars.”
- Ansari (D-AZ) 10/21/26: X-post – “I am appalled at the detention of many rabbis, activists, and even Brad Lander, my future colleague in the House, by the Israeli military earlier today. These individuals were in the West Bank to peacefully assist Palestinians with the olive harvest, which has been disrupted and targeted by rampant violence of Israeli settlers throughout the region. The Israeli government must take urgent action to release all the activists detained in this incident. They must also work to protect Palestinians from attacks, as is their obligation under international law. I am a proud cosponsor of the West Bank Violence Prevention Act, which would impose sanctions on the institutions and key leaders responsible for violence in the West Bank. The Trump Administration has an immediate obligation to press for safety and security for Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza — and to halt unacceptable settlement expansion driving much of the violence and instability in the West Bank.”
- Mejia (D-NY) 10/21/26: X-post – “Volunteers, including Dr. Alan Gordon of NJ-11, traveled thousands of miles to help Palestinians harvest olives, and Israeli forces detained them for it. I will continue to demand an end to settler violence and the illegal occupation of Palestinian land, backed by Netanyahu.” Also see Mejia’s press release – Rep. Mejia Denounces Israeli Detention of Constituent in West Bank
- Jayapal (D-WA) 10/21/26: X-post – “I am appalled that Brad Lander, the Democratic nominee for NY-10, was detained by the IDF in the West Bank alongside rabbis and other activists in the annual olive harvest. It is a stark reminder of the abuses Palestinians face on a near daily basis doing even the simplest of tasks, like harvesting olives on the land their families have cultivated for centuries. Next Congress, Democrats must pass the Stop Settlements Act to demand our government use its leverage to bring the illegal settlement movement to an end.”
- Barragan (D-CA) 10/21/26: X-post – “I am relieved to hear Brad Lander has been released after he was detained by Israeli forces in the West Bank, for having helped Palestinian farmers harvest olives for their annual olive harvest. However, other Americans — including rabbis and volunteers — are still in custody. They must be released immediately. Peacefully helping Palestinian families harvest their land is not a crime. It should not lead to an arrest. The rights and safety of Palestinians, as well as of those that stand alongside them, must be respected.”
- Casar (D-TX) 10/21/26: X-post – “Brad Lander, rabbis, and other Americans were with Palestinian farmers during the annual olive harvest when they were detained by the IDF. A clear violation of international law. I’m glad that Brad has been released — but he should never have been detained in the first place. Everyone else needs to be released immediately. Congress must pass the Stop the Settlements Act, make it clear that abuses like this are unacceptable, and stop funding this terror.”
- Carson (D-IN) 10/21/26: X-post – “At least 33 Americans—including Rabbi Jill Jacobs and congressional candidate Brad Lander—were detained by Israeli forces today while helping Palestinian farmers harvest olives. All those detained for peacefully participating in this harvest must be released immediately. Palestinians shouldn’t have to risk their lives to harvest their own land. Settler violence terrorizes families and drives Palestinians from their homes and livelihoods, attacks that are enabled by a culture of impunity that treats Palestinian lives as expendable. The U.S. must protect Palestinian lives by demanding an end to settler violence and the enforcement of real consequences for those carrying out and enabling these attacks.”
Gaza
- Ramirez (D-IL) 10/21/26: X-post – “Israel is committing a genocide against Palestinians, paid for by American taxpayers. As Israeli airstrikes continue to kill children and families in Gaza, half a million Palestinians are set to lose access to food and assistance. Whether by bombs or through starvation, the genocide has not ended. We must end it. We can start by passing my Block the Bombs Act.”
- Tlaib (D-MI) 10/19/26: X-post – “The commander of the Israeli military unit likely responsible for killing 5-year-old Hind Rajab is currently in the U.S. As a party to the Genocide Convention and the Geneva Conventions, our government is obligated to arrest and investigate him for these war crimes and acts of genocide. I stand with @HindRFoundation in calling on the DOJ to follow the law and take action.”
- Pocan (D-WI) 10/16/26: X-post – “This has to be an account a Russian troll. Everyone has seen the pictures of the devastation of almost all the buildings in Gaza. Saying because there’s one area that’s not destroyed means everything is OK is beyond stupid or lying. Unbelievable.” Responding to random X-post (from account with nearly 95k followers) with video alleged to be of a fancy shopping mall that just opened in the Gaza Strip.
- Pocan (D-WI) 10/15/26: X-post – “I don’t know why @AIPAC lies, but between Netanyahu’s barbarism and AIPAC’s political extremism they’ve turned off more members of Congress and opened their eyes to what’s actually happening. We need to recognize a Palestinian state, decry the genocide, & hold Bibi accountable.” Responding to AIPAC X-post: “Aid continues to enter Gaza. Sanders is lying. Again.” That AIPAC post was attacking Sanders (I-VT) for his 10/15/26 X-post, “Days before his election, Netanyahu’s extremist government is again cutting off food and shelter for 2 million people in Gaza. This illegal and immoral collective punishment will starve children. Not another tax dollar for these atrocities. END U.S. MILITARY AID TO ISRAEL NOW!”
Free Speech/Right to Protest for Palestinian Lives/Rights
- Tlaib (D-MI) 10/22/26: X-post – “.@MahmoudKhalel [sic] is taking the fight for our rights to the Supreme Court. The Trump administration tried to silence him for speaking out against genocide. Now, Mahmoud is fighting for our free speech and to defend every immigrant who has been unjustly targeted by ICE.”
- Ramirez (D-NY) 10/21/26: X-post – “The Trump administration has used DHS and weaponized the courts to persecute dissenters like Mahmoud Khalil for exercising their First Amendment rights and speaking truth to power. Through his case, the administration seeks to undermine our constitutional rights, including our rights to Habeas Corpus and due process. I stand with Mahmoud, as he courageously takes the fight to the Supreme Court to challenge the administration’s violation of our constitutional rights. In the courts, in the streets, and in Congress, we demand the federal government respect EVERYONE’s constitutional rights. We do not accept that we must surrender our rights in the name of ‘security,’ because fascism ALWAYS requires a public enemy.”
- Torres (D-NY) 10/21/26: X-post – “Earlier this month, Pal-Awda boasted about forcing a Jewish community event out of Queens. Now the group has set its sights on Riverdale, targeting Jewish families in our borough simply for gathering together. Riverdale is home to one of the most vibrant Jewish communities in New York, and its families deserve to come together without fear. Organizing a campaign to hunt down these gatherings and drive them out of our neighborhoods is an attack on Jewish New Yorkers. Pushing anyone out of public life in our city because of their faith is nothing to celebrate, and the Bronx will not tolerate it.” See: response on X from journalist Matthew Petti – “Would you guess that the ‘Jewish community event’ was an Israeli real estate fair? For a company that deals in West Bank settlements? You would be right!” Also see response from Pal-Awda on X: “Everyone can see through your lies. We have no objection to any community ‘simply gathering together.’ As you know very well, our protests are directed at immoral and illegal settler recruitment events and sales of #StolenPalestinianLand that elected officials like you have an obligation to shut down. New Yorkers will continue to protest these so called ‘gatherings’ wherever they happen in NYC.”
Iran/Saudi/Yemen/Houthis
- Murphy (D-CT) 10/22/26: X-post – “70% of Americans oppose the existing disastrous war with Iran. Trump has now committed to a massive escalation which would include ground troops and billions of taxpayer money to prop up a new regime. 70% would move to 99%.”
- Hamadeh (R-AZ) 10/22/26: X-post – “When Congressman Hamadeh served in the Army in Saudi Arabia, the Houthis were launching ballistic missiles at the base from hundreds of miles away. Iran supplies them. They don’t take orders from Tehran, but they’re heavily influenced by it. Saudi Arabia has spent around $60 billion and still struggles against the Houthis. They’re dug into the mountains and fight like ISIS cells. We must be cognizant that Saudi Aruab’s an ally, and the Houthis are choking trade through the Bab el-Mandeb, but we can’t fix every problem. We must prioritize America and weigh the costs before getting deeper involved.”
- Doggett (D-TX) 10/21/26: X-post – “Trump told Americans this war would last four to five weeks. Then he said we could be out in two or three weeks. Seven months later, it’s still going. Now Saudi Aramco’s CEO warns that depleted global oil inventories could take up to two years to rebuild—meaning higher gas prices could outlast the war by years. That’s the price of a war Trump said would be over almost before it started, even if he cannot figure out how to end it.”
- Warren (D-MA) 10/19/26: X-post – “In a classified briefing, a DoD official revealed to Senators how much Iranian attacks on U.S. bases have cost us. Now, I’m calling for the DoD to make that number public. Americans deserve to know how much of their money is being burned on Trump’s war with Iran.”
Islamophobia in US elex/politics (incl blaming riots in Europe on Islam/Palestinians)
- Fuller (R-GA) 10/22/26: X-post – “We must call CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood what they truly are: Terrorist organizations. We have to fight to defend the West.”
- Luna (R-FL) 10/22/26: X-post – “The FBI just arrested a 17-year-old from McKinney, Texas, for plotting to assassinate Rep. Keith Self and carry out an ISIS terror attack in North Texas. @RepKeithSelf is head of the Anti-Sharia Caucus. How many more murders and attempted murders need to happen before people wake up? This is NOT NORMAL. MURDERING or trying to murder Americans because you don’t agree politically is deranged. Every single elected official should be condemning this.”
- Harshbarger (R-TX) 10/22/26: X-post – “Praying for my colleague RepKeithSelf and his family. Keith has been a strong voice against radical Islam and Sharia law in America, and this is a sobering reminder that the threat is real and it’s already on our soil. We cannot afford to look the other way. Thank you to the FBI and our law enforcement officers for their vigilance.”
- Rulli (R-OH) 10/22/26: X-post – “I’m thankful Keith Self and his family are safe and grateful to law enforcement for stopping this threat. Radical extremism and attempts to impose Sharia law have no place in America.”
- Fine (R-FL) 10/21/26: X-post – “A Muslim terrorist planned to kill my colleague Keith Self. Fortunately, he was foiled by the FBI. Glad that @RepKeithSelf and his family are safe. Everywhere mainstream Islam takes root, violence follows. We must redouble our efforts to fight this evil.”
- Fine (R-FL) 10/21/26: X-post w/ video clip – “The Muslim Brotherhood, Islamic Jihadists, CAIR, and others don’t call themselves extreme or radical. Because this is not a fringe, this is the mainstream. If we won’t call them what they are, they will destroy us.”
- Cruz (R-TX) 10/20/26: X-post w/ video clip – “I believe Abdul El-Sayed is Muslim Brotherhood. If he were to win, Chuck Schumer could place him on the Senate Intelligence Committee. He would have access to the very highest level of classified materials. There would be an unacceptably high risk that the lives of American servicemen and women would be endangered, because there’s every reason to believe El-Sayed would share that classified information with Muslim Brotherhood terrorists.”

- Self (R-TX) 10/20/26: X-post – “The chaos in France will come to America if mass migration is not stopped!”
- Self (R-TX) 10/20/26: X-post – “Middle Eastern money and influence has poured into North Texas to fund Sharia compounds designed to infiltrate our communities and neighborhoods. We have seen it in Kaufman County, Blue Ridge, and all across North Texas. We cannot put America First if we surrender the principles and values that form our foundation. Sharia law has NO place in America.”
- Tuberville (R-AL) 10/19/25: X-post – “Sharia Law teaches its followers teaches it’s followers that Christians and non-Muslims are the enemy. That CULTIST ideology is fundamentally incompatible with our American Constitution and way of life.”
- Mace (R-SC) 10/19/26: X-post – “Sharia law is a grave threat to our national sovereignty.”
- Rulli (R-OH) 10/19/26: X-post – “Look at Europe: violence, fear, and freedom dying under Islam and Sharia law. It’s incompatible and dangerous. Wake up before we lose everything our founders died for and our children inherit a broken nation.”
- Cruz (R-TX) 10/17/26: X-post – “We are witnessing Islamists right now burning Paris because Europe has committed cultural suicide. We should look to France as foreshadowing for what America faces if we don’t stop this here. We are fighting to save our nation.”

AIPAC Getting Out of Elex? Nope.
On 10/21/26 Jewish Insider broke the story: AIPAC to end candidate endorsements, PAC contributions to allies [“AIPAC leaders said that the United Democracy Project super PAC will continue, as the group urges its members to give directly to pro-Israel candidates“]. So what does this actually mean? Dylan Williams (Center for National Policy) responded on X: “To put this in simpler terms: AIPAC is now such a political liability for candidates that it is ending its direct campaign contributions, but doubling down on dark money and other fundraising more difficult to tie back to it.” Or as Josh Nathan-Kazis reported in the 10/22/26 edition of the Jewish Currents newsletter: “AIPAC is essentially taking its political spending underground. For the past five years, the group has put a list of endorsees on its website, and let small-dollar donors contribute to candidates’ campaigns through its PAC. That had the benefit for AIPAC of letting politicians know where their money was coming from, and the drawback of letting everyone else know, too. It’s become a big liability in Democratic contests, and even centrist Democrats like Cory Booker say they won’t take AIPAC money anymore. So AIPAC is ditching that strategy. Small-dollar donors will now give directly to candidates, while big money can still shovel cash into the maw of the super PAC—which can take unlimited amounts from individuals, and from anonymous corporations. ‘This decision makes it harder for outside groups and journalists to track the full extent of AIPAC supporters’ donations,’ my colleague Alex Kane told me. ‘It’s a sign that the group’s pro-war, anti-Palestinian agenda has grown so toxic that it will do its best to hide the full extent of its grassroots supporters’ donations.‘”
Also see Ryan Grim (Drop Site News) on X 10/22/26: “America Priorities, which went head-to-head with @AIPAC this cycle and beat them in most races, is out with a statement following AIPAC’s announcement that they will not be endorsing candidates in the future, relying instead on their super PAC and directed individual giving. Per their statement: ‘Late yesterday, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) announced that it will no longer endorse candidates, make direct PAC contributions, or publicly earmark donations to campaigns. The organization’s leadership justified this decision by calling the 2026 election cycle ‘one of the most challenging environments in recent memory.’ The real reasoning behind this tactical retreat is much simpler: an AIPAC endorsement has become a liability and, under pressure from elected officials and candidates, the group is trying to further muddy the waters. While AIPAC-backed candidates were coached to say as little as possible about Israel, Palestine, and the war crimes being committed in Gaza, candidates backed by American Priorities spoke honestly, with a conviction that reflected where the mainstream of the Democratic Party has shifted. Voters rejected the status quo, which told them that stepping out of line on this issue represented a betrayal or, worse, of strongly-held American values around human rights and international law. AIPAC’s public relations gambit notably leaves in place its super PAC, United Democracy Project and its associated shell PACs. But the shift away from endorsements and other direct contributions will only serve to make the group’s efforts less transparent. This retreat does not change the odds American Priorities is up against, but it is a direct response to the success of our efforts in pushing Democrats to listen to their constituents. Until American foreign policy honestly reflects the will of the voters, and the United States’ role in genocide is severed, AP is committed to fighting, spending, and making sure voters know exactly who is paying for their representatives’ silence’.”
Other headlines/sub-headlines (on what was a massively-reported story) more clearly reflected this reality. Some examples:
