Join the Mohamed Said Fasi Chair for Islamic Peace and Center for Israeli Studies for a panel discussion on the United States and the Israel-Palestine Peace Process, Past and Future. The discussion will feature previous negotiators, advisors and participants who played influential roles in the Israeli-Palestinian Peace Process.
Discussion participants include:
Leila Hilal is a Senior Fellow in the International Security Program at the New America Foundation. She was a legal Advisor to Palestinian negotiators from 2002 to 2008.
Ghaith al-Omari is a Senior Fellow at the Washington Institute on Near East Policy. Between 1999 to 2001 he was an advisor to the Palestinian negotiators at permanent status talks.
William B. Quandt is a Professor emeritus of politics at the University of Virginia and National Security Council participant in Camp David negotiations, 1977-79.
Itamar Rabinovich is the President of the Israel Institute, Professor emeritus and former president of Tel Aviv University. He was the Ambassador to the United States and chief negotiator with Syria in the 1990s.
This panel discussion will be moderated by Dr. Anthony Wanis-St. John, Associate Professor, School of International Service. Hosts include Elizabeth F. Thompson, Professor and Faris Chair, School of International Service and Michael Brenner, Seymour and Lillian Abensohn Chair in Israel Studies.
