One month after graduating from college in Colorado in 2014, Tim Bruns and his business partner Will Harris moved to the Occupied West Bank. Their goal was to create a climbing community and introduce a new recreational opportunity in a place where there are few positive outlets for energy. Three years later, Ramallah is now host to a enthusiastic climbing community. Thousands of Palestinians have learned to climb with their company, Wadi Climbing, and with the help of US and Palestinian partners they opened Palestine’s first climbing gym in March 2016.

Come hear Tim talk about how his experiences as a business owner in Palestine have given him insight into running a small business, Palestinian culture, challenges associated with international development, and the many paradoxes of day-to-day life under occupation.
