Israel should stop building settlements, denying Palestinian development and designating land for exclusive Israeli use that Palestinians seek for a future state, the Middle East peace “Quartet” recommended in a draft of an eagerly awaited report seen by Reuters.

An Israeli was killed and three were wounded Friday after their car crashed as a result of gunfire near Hebron. The victims are all said to be members of the same family.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry told the Palestinians in a televised speech Wednesday night that his country opposes any changes to the Arab Peace Initiative, and would use its power in the United Nations Security Council to force Israel to halt settlement building.
